This grant supports a study of how public policies toward taxes and pensions affect savings behavior. The project will analyze existing data sets to measure the effect of pensions on saving. It will also assess the effectiveness of public policies designed to encourage saving and determine whether private pensions can play a greater role in financing retirement. The project will produce a series of papers.
