Gary Hufbauer will research and write a monograph and a series of articles on the potential future role of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in preserving the stability of the world financial system in light of the challenges posed by global capital flows. He will analyze the current shortcomings of the IMF and develop proposals for restructuring the IMF into an organization capable of providing surveillance of world capitalmarkets.
